The Racial Lens
This lens is not an option for those whose skin is dark
It's simply life's experience
The reality is stark
When everything is racial, denial's not a choice
A lifetime of fatigue
Screams from a silent voice
The "lens" exists for others, intention is the need
Finding fertile ground and tending to the seed
The lens incorporated, constantly pointed out
Not a separate entity
Weaving it throughout
The lens needs to have ownership by allies for the plight
To bring us all some unity
To stoke collective light
