This Is What Black Girls Need...

Starting with Black female Students, historically marginalized, I would like to do the following: 1. Black Student Unions, Black mentorship/leadership programs and space for Black Girls o Provide a safe space/class to heal and explore identity o Explore and understand our Black history** to develop a strong sense of self o Build community and reduce racial isolation o Develop and practice social skills and leadership skills. 1. Increase social justice knowledge, equity practices and social change 2. Begin integrating work with equity student voice group

Support teacher development of culturally responsive teaching 1. Build teacher capacity to engage in culturally responsive teaching 2. bridge between students and teachers when racial challenges occur (Restorative Justice) 3. Develop a team from emerging staff and administrators who are interested in this work

That's all for now :)
